The north’s efforts to protect the population from the incessant bombing. I called it “Personal Bomb Shelter” in my journal. America tends to remain blissfully unaware of what we did and how strong was our adversary.

We trained on the M-14 which is depicted in this painting. We are also working on the dehumanization of our enemy as we learn to shoot. Although this is the 3rd painted I considered it should be 2nd in the series.

I was seeking to portray the results of training. We were ready to protect democracy and our people from Communism, the Chinese hordes and the Evil of Ho Chi Minh and his oppressive regime. I have called this painting “Transformed” as it progresses. “We who are about to die” is another title.
